London Stock Exchange sharply lower

The market dropped considerably jeudi, and UK 100 (CBOE) (BUK100P) closed at 843 points after a decline of 1.8 percent. L'indice has never lost more in one day since août 5. 2024, when it was down 2.0 percent.

434 shares showed a gain and 1337 showed a loss. 77 shares were unchanged and closed at the same price as the previous day. There was no trading in 149 shares.

Total value of the trading volume for shares and primary capital certificates jeudi was approximately 852.8 billion.

HSBC Holdings PLC (HSBA) closed at 810 pence after a steep drop of 8.3 percent. L'action has never lost more in one day since avril 1. 2020, when it was down 9.5 percent. It does, however, look good technically. L'action is trend wise positive in the medium term and a further increase is indicated.

Barclays PLC (BARC) ended with a steep loss of 8.7 percent and closed at 271 pence. The previous time l'action lost this much was avril 1. 2020, when it closed down 12.0 percent. L'action triggered a sell signal by the break down through the support at 282 pence in formation double sommet. A further drop to 255 pence within three months is indicated.

National Grid PLC (NG) closed at 1063 pence after posting a gain of 5.5 percent. We must go back to mai 31. 2024 to find an equally strong rise. That time l'action gained 36.8 percent. L'action has thereby closed up 14 out of the past 20 days. Technically it also looks good. L'action is trend wise negative in the medium term, but has marginally broken up through the resistance at 1060 pence.

Standard Chartered PLC (STAN) closed at 1022 pence after a steep drop of 11.2 percent. We must go back to mars 12. 2020 to find an equally steep drop. That time l'action lost 11.4 percent. L'action is trend wise positive in the medium term.

Tesco PLC (TSCO) ended with a solid gain of 4.3 percent and closed at 345 pence. The previous time l'action gained this much was décembre 29. 2023, when it closed up 33.3 percent. Technically it also looks good. L'action is trend wise positive in the medium term, has broken up through the resistance at 340 pence and a further increase is indicated.
